QSO Info: What is the difference between COMMENTS and NOTES?

I see from some forum posts that information may get populated in the COMMENTS and NOTES fields from "cluster data". As a newbie user I am using Log4OM for basic QSO logging only at at this point and do not know where best to store my notes about the QSO: COMMENTS/NOTES/somewhere else?

There is really no difference and the choice is yours, personally I use comments

Comments are usually related to contact informations. I'm putting on comments (automatically filling a list) the informations coming from cluster about reference and other things.
So comments in my point of view are something related to the counterpart situation/location/awards

note is a field that can be used to store info like "send 3USD" or "User will not confirm via QSL" or "Heavy rain during QSO".

Anyway Terry is right, there is not a "real" difference between those 2 fields, except the ability to automatically read informations from cluster into comments

I was wondering that also.
I imported from another logbook as ADIF. There my info was in comments and I found it in Log4OM in notes.
For me it does't matter but "good to know".

Hi Erwin.
Can you check your ADIF under what tag your previous comments was exported?
If they was exported under NOTE field ok... if not there is something bad in import...

Thanks
