Hi, a copy of your config.xml file should be available, followed by date time of save, into backup folder, inside your settings folder.
Simply rename the copy of config to config.xml and place in the root of settings folder, available through help menu.
Report troubles please.
Any one else report same issue?

Yes... same happened to me. a simple 'update' should be easier than this. All of my settings have dissapeared. There is now nothing in any of the tabs in 'settings / options' and copying my last good config file named 20141020092544_config.xml over to the main Log4om installation folder and renaming it config.xml did nothing to restore my settings.... I also copied the file to the "%appdata%/LogOM" folder, but still nothing is working. Fortunately, I have a total system backup of my hard drive which I made prior to unstalling this update and I have reverted back to that. At least now I once again have a working logbook. I will not be installing this update again until I can work out what I did wrong.]

John

<Added by way of edit> I have now tried to upgrade 4 times on 2 different computers. 3 times on main machine (sopying & pasting different things each time) & 1 time on an old laptop. Always the same, settings dissapear. I tried copying all of the _user.xml files and then putting them back after an install... I even tried doing an upgrade without first doing an uninstall.... always the same. settings are lost. If I can think of something else to try I will and I'll report back... this is just sooooo weird.

Ok , I am not sure I follow you , I did find config files named ( 20141020163541_config.xml ) in c:\users\my name\appdata\roaming\logom\backup
I copied that file to c:\program files(x86) \iw3hmh\log4om and renamed it to config.xml but upon starting the program it still loads up to a blank config.
I hope I am doing something wrong .
thank you

Same here. Lost my config. Will try the suggestion above.

Edit - Not understanding the instructions, and I work in IT. I have a restore point, but it's a few days old. Waiting on a possible fix before I try the restore.

Edit 2 - found the daily config file and adi file in my backup folder, but renaiming that file and replacing the one in AppData\Roaming\LogOM did not work.

BTW, thanks for a great program. Anxiously awaiting a fix!!

USERS THAT HAVE PROBLEMS WITH A LOST CONFIG FILE:
THE VERSION ON THE WEBSITE IS NOW OK.

PLEASE REDOWNLOAD THE NEW RELEASE AND APPLY YOUR LATEST CONFIG FROM YOUR BACKUP:

1) IDENTIFY YOUR LAST "GOOD" BACKUP IN THE LogOM\BACKUP FOLDER (You can find this folder from the HELP menu, it's in "ROAMING" folder)

2) Backup is named "config_yyyymmddhhmmss.xml" where yyyymmddhhmmss is a date/time (like 2014.10.12 10:33:00) MADE PRIOR to the new version install

3) Take this file, rename it to "config.xml" and place in the root folder of settings (that is similar to C:\Users\<YOUR USER>\AppData\Roaming\LogOM)

4) We apologize for that issue. Beta testers were all using a "patched" config from the previous beta versions so we were not aware of the issue.

OK.... I have uninstalled, then re-installed newest release, and copied the config file as set out above.. BUT, all is still not 100%. Yes, the information that was in 'Settings / Config' are all there, however nothing opens in the position that I had set. ALL windows open in what is most likely their defauld positions and not how I had it all set up.

What do I now need to copy & replace to get all the windows back to opening where they were ????

Hi John, are you sure you have copied a config backup made BEFORE 1.19.0 installation? eg. 2 days ago?
Because those informations are all in the config.xml...
