Hi All

I had a crash on my C Drive at the weekend, and after recovering from backup, i accidentaly imported an adif file i had. this file added over 3000 duplicates to the log. These duplicates however do not have the exact start time for the qso - they defult to the round minut, nor do they have signal reports. My question is is there any way to do a global search and weed them out?

Update

I have isolated the offending QSO's by using searc paramaters in QSO Archive, but i dont know what the SQl Query is to delete them all

The search function did not isolate the required qso's - how do i search the log for duplicate qso's ?

If the dupes have no signal reports

1. In QSO archive enable update and enable the enable delete boxes at the top right
2. Search on RST received field but leave the input box on the right empty, that will search all RST received fields which don't contain an RST in other words the field is empty
3. Click select all button at the bottom of the archive window to highlight the QSO's
4. Now press the delete key on your computer keyboard


It might take some time to delete the records so be patient

I can't understand why everyone does not keep their database SQLite file and backup files in Dropbox or similar cloud storage then there is no possibility of losing it because there are copies of the files on every computer that you own and a copy for download on the Dropbox internet site that can be downloaded.

C drive fails just install a new one with OS and software including Dropbox and retrieve your Database - Simples!

I use some online logbooks ... If i will lost all after a HDD crash it woul be not a problem to import all lost data If there are doublets at the online logs site L4O will filtering this while importing ADIF

Yes Juergen duplicates are normally filtered out

However please be aware that ADIF downloads from online logbooks often only contain basic QSO information where as if your SQLite file and backups are stored on Dropbox or similar all of the information is retained

I have also "backups" of my L4O ADIF at a USB Stick and at a separate USB HDD
But if all will be damaged i can try to restore from external logs

Terry - The problem is that the duplicate QSO's are identical.......I imported 2 different adif's by mistake, the correct L4OM one, and one created by DX lab - theonly difference is that the dx lab qso's specify a start time exactly on the minute (no seconds)

Why can't you just create a new database and only import the one correct ADIF?
