Log4OM

Hello,
May LOG4OM be used in remote way ? I have in my domestic net, main PC (where is connected radio, etc) and laptop PC (connected trought wireless LAN) .
I 'd like to use LOG4OM into my laptop , syncronized with remote (radio ) PC . I'm using , VSPE, doors were opened in router ,etc etc, but nothing works properly....
Any suggestion?

Yes, but ( if I undersand well) timeviewer let "REMOTIZE" entire PC ( a remote desktop)....
I just need to remote LOG4OM , but maybe it is not yet implemented...

is that right ?


the common way to do that is to put the log file (sqllite if you have the standard installation)) on a extenal folder, like a dropbox folder or a google drive and access it remotely.

not properly I mean, just need to connect in a remote way but from my DOMESTIC LAN ( during Winter time my shack is too cold ...hi) .
Up until now I used remote with ham radio deluxe ;my shack is quite complex ( Station ,master , Microkeyer, Perseus used for RX and Pro III , Acom 2000A ) ...Everythings works properly and syncronized. The only think that I cannot use from my remote laptop is LOG4OM....
From LOG Communicator I saw TCP connection bidirectional and I think that I have to work on it (with VSPE...),but...nothing ,it doesn't work.

I think I understood what you are looking for.

you have two alternatives
a) (g4pop) access remotely to the PC with a teamviever for example
b) enable a disk access where you have you log file to your pc in the "Cold station"; you should investigate how to share a window disk on your lan. Once you will have a disk (let's say Z:) you need to install log4om your laptop and open the log on the disk Z, if you like to have the same log4om configuration that you have in the shack see the log4om manual where the is a specific description.

Actual Log4OM supports only remotization of CAT control using HAMLIB. So hamlib can be installed and run from a remote PC phisically connect to your rig, and Log4OM can connect to this remote instance to control CAT.
But, again, works only with Hamlib.

Something better will be available and is planned for V2 (requires a lot of structural changes to be implemented in the actual V1)

Only as Info. There´s a new version of Omnirig out to download. It´s called "Omnirig Net" and it was published at the DX Zone site. A Link will forwarding to the Homepage but all informations are in russian language. It could be that Omnirig now can handle remote but i am not shure about this ....

Interesting port of the original Omnirig software.
I've similar plans for Log4OM CAT software in V2 with some native functions and other things and a basic software that does this work is already running on my PC with almost 20-30 rigs supported...
