No Cat, no FLDGI read

Good morning everyone
I'm having difficulty and can't seem to dope it out. Running yaesu 857d, Log4om, fldigi, Windos7 Home Premium, and using a RT systems USB 62 cable to the radio. I can't seem to get Log4om to read the log in fldigi and bring it over so that QSOs can be sent to qrz, eqsl and eventually LOTW. The path to fldigi should be correct, communicator should be configured, log4om should be running as an admin. The comm port should be correct (comm3). My guess is that the comm setting is that something in windows is off but I need a few ideas on what to double check and or look into.

Likewise, no cat control. Cluster does work fine, communicator is started and everything, omni rig seems to be running, omni should match fldigi and log4om. 857d is set for cat under menu 20.

I would appreciate any advice. This will be great once it is up and running - I've never used logging software before (new general ham) and it should make things much easier. Thanks for any help you can provide. Scott.

Questions

1. Without FLdigi running can you get Log4om connecting to the rig via Omnirig?

2. Have you ensured that there are no other programs running?

3. Have any other programs ever connected to your radio using the RT systems interface successfully?

Hi Terry,
I got Log4om to pull the qso s from fldigi and up into eqsl - which is great. I think it was just closing and starting the programs again. Still no cat. For your questions... 1. no cannot get log 4 to connect via omnirig without fldigi, 2. should be nothing else running, nothing else was started (will double check via task manager next attempt), 3 No, never have used CAT control

Possible issue with configuring Omni, the 857 and log4om??? I believe they all match but any suggestions on baud rate and so forth? Thanks for your help.. Scott

From memory, and I may be wrong, most Yaesu radio's require 8 data bits no parity and TWO stop bits.. and its the two stop bits that get missed the most.

If this is of no help, then I am sure Terry will sort it for you.

OK... I got it working. Setting everything to 9600 baud did the trick. Cat with the cluster is going to be very nice. Thanks so much for making all of this possible. One other question - I can't upload to QRZ.com unless I'm a paid member, correct??? I saw that somewhere on google. Eqsl is working great and I'm sure I can figure out LOTW. One odd thing was if I hit the cat button it brings up omni rig and cat comes on...then if I hit OK it goes off... Is that normal or am I missing some detail? No big deal either way - I'm going to enjoy this.

Thanks again. Scott

That is normal, you only use the CAT button if you need to change something
