Incorrect Solar Data

my guess is, that the solar data info on the Log4om main window was never designed to display numbers like those of today.

Today, the figures at one stage were SFI = 114 A = 117 K = 8 however Log4om displayed them as K:0 A:17 SFI: 114 so the SFI was OK, but A & K were incorrect.

Another "Issue" ...

Todays A Index ist 117 (yesterday up to 126) and Log4OM shows only 17 .... Could it be possible that L4O only shows 2 digits ??? 3 are needed for numbers above 100 ... ;) ;)

confirmed I am now seeing the same thing so your probably both correct in saying that we probably only display 2 digits for A & K index, only Lele could confirm that

Can you please check if graphs show the same value?
I'll check today

Yes Lele I already checked and we are not displaying the whole value

I can remember the A index ever being that high but it does happen so we need to disple A and K up to 999

However if the number is less than 100 we do not want to display 099 and if below ten we don't want to display 005 - just the actual values like 99 or 5

As Terry said, we need 3 digits but without leading zero´s ..... Another idea - Paul L Herrman provide a lot of graphics at his side http://www.hamqsl.com/solar.html ... Those graphics can be embedded with simple code so it should be possible to use it also in a software. The graphics are free to use but he needs some donations from users to provide the data.

You may ask him you can use the informations in Log4OM. Thimk the users will like a L4O screen like this in my attached picture .... Only an example, there are some other graphics with much more informations like band propagation or sporadic E activity e.g.

The Info´s in the header can be hidden then, they are only take effect in the logbook after logging a QSO ... :D :D :D

Juergen,
i have all the data he has, directly from NOAA website.
I've added some informations like A/K/SFI/Sunspots, while more can be added if needed.

Log4OM is a logger, not a solar tracking software, so probably some informations can be added, but adding everything is a bit too much imho.

Also i don't like so much embedding a "non controlled" source into Log4OM (showing the image in Log4OM will allow someone to directly manipulate what the user got on his desktop)

We can talk about retrieving more data, if needed, with pleasure.
