ADIF Import from fldigig - no locator

Post by Michael »

Hello, I want to import my database from fldigi - but the Gridsquare (Locator) is not imported. What have I done wrong?
Many thanks for your help.

Just for the benefit of other users, Michael sent me his complete logbook from FLdigi and I was able to import the file complete with locators for him.

I sent him back a Log4OM SQLite database and also an ADIF generated by Log4OM complete with locators and as far as I know these worked OK for him.

There is a small issue with import of FLdigi ADIF files which Daniele will have fixed for the next release, however if FLdigi is integrated with Log4OM using communicator, as detailed in the Log4OM user guide, no such issue exists.

Hello Heinz,
I have just checked with FLDigi 3.21.72 and I agree the notes are not being imported, I will ask Daniele to check this.

However the locator is importing fine every time.

What version of Log4OM are you using because the locator was an issue some time back but we fixed that and it all now works fine?

I'm running the latest version 1.14.
The note field is a ADIF problem, because in fldigi <NOTE> has been usesd, where in my opinion <COMMENT> where the better choice :)

I read that the locator problem has been fixed, but not for me :-(
so, i will try to do fresh installations for both, perhaps there where some troubles in older files, which hasn't been updated correctly on my side.

I will report my conclusions tomorrow ;)

Yes I would prefer they used the comments but we should still import the notes also.

Please check the FLDigi logbook file to see if the locator was correctly saved by FLDigi, if it was dont waste your time reinstalling FLDigi.

We had an issue with the release of Log4OM on Friday evening which was resolved on Sunday morning at which time we replaced the download file, it is just possible that this issue impacted in the FLDigi import. So if your download was before 0900 hrs UTC Sunday this could be the problem.

Please download again and re-install Log4OM and let me know what happens with the locator import please.

Good morning Terry,

yes, the locator is stored correctly in the fldigi adif.

i've installed the first 1.14 Log4OM and a new installation of fldigi on my Acer Iconia at the QRL, and what shall i tell you - all works flawless. Locator would be fetched. There have to be a problem at my main computer. I reinstall all complete, and wait for the next Log4OM update :D

Yet another piece of Murphies Law....

Hi Terry,
sorry for the delay but I had and still have nasty toothache
just for info...
At my main pc i have installed Win7 (64).
Fresh installation of both (Log4OM and fldigi).
Creating new database (sqlite) -> locator would been overtaken.
I thought fine and importered my other qsos from an adif file.
After that moment the locator wasn't imported anylonger

Strange...
