Anyone using TS-940 with OmniRig

My neighbor and ham operator has just picked up a TS-940SAT and I will be faced with helping him set up CAT control with Log4OM and various digital modes. He is getting the Piexx interface board for it.

So, is anyone running a TS-940 with OmniRig? If so, what OmniRig rig ini/setting are you using?

I looked at the TS-930.ini and the TS-590.ini and they seemed to be the same and pretty standard, so one of those will be my first try.

Any other information, advice or issues encountered would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Doug, I'm running a TS-940S that has the Piexx interface installed. I'm using Log4OM with OmniRig and have had no problems. I just installed Log4OM and then installed OMNIRig and all is working great. Everything was setup in initial setup run. My Omni-Rig settings are:
Rig type- Kenwood
Port- COM 4
Baud rate- 4800
Data bits- 8
Parity- None
Stop bits- 1
RTS- Low
DTR- Low
Poll int.,ms- 500
Timeout, ms- 4000

Hope this helps. Log4OM is a great program and the CAT control for the TS-940S is a pleasure to use. Have fun 73

Hi Dale,

Thanks much for the reply and info! I had not noticed there was a generic "Kenwood" rig type. We will give it a try! Thanks again.

Also Doug, just for a FYI post on this, I upgraded to Windows 10 with this same setup and everything works fine. Log4OM, OmniRig, Piexx, everything. No problem at all after the upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10.
