Questions after merging DXCC with LOTW

I have a general question about how LOG4OM integrates with LOTW.

A few months ago I finally figured out how to have my legacy DXCC contacts merged into LOTW. All the on line data is now current. I assume that LOG4OM has no way to import the now merged info from LOTW - am I correct?

Assuming I am, I'd now have to manually enter in each QSO for the DXCC credits I earned since 1970? How about the prefixes that no longer exist, or the countries that no longer exist? Is LOG4OM smart enough to know the cut off dates for such contacts?

Let me refer you to this thread. viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1755

If interested in the import program, just send me a PM.

A lot will depend on how old your original DXCC records are. If you have any records on paper only, these will only be reflected in the ADIF you d/l from LOTW with partial information - in some cases, not even a callsign. Post computerization, but pre-LOTW will be better, but I still found discrepancies.

Doug's software works great, but unfortunately, the input ADIF from LOTW is only as useful as the quality of ARRL's records. Be sure to use a copy of your main log if you experiment with it.

What worked for me was to convert the ADIF to CSV. CSV then to Excel, which, for me is easier to work with than plain ADIF. Then manual clean-up. Fortunately I had copies of all my DXCC submission going back to the early 80s. A variety of searches and sorts easily isolated the incomplete records. Once corrected, back out to ADIF and through Doug's program. My count is now within three in Log4OM, but I still haven't isolated these last errors - will be coming back to it at some point.

Good luck!
