Just lost hundreds of log entries - please help!

Hi, I used the "services" utility to "poll .adif files" to bring my WSJT-X logs over to Log4OM.

When I restarted everything, all my jt65 logs moved over, but I lost over 10 months worth of logs. 5 months worth before any jt65 qso, and 5 months worth after..

Not sure what to do, I hope I can restore them from backup files?

thanks

Hi,

Can you explain just what the "services" utility is?

If you are still having issues and would like help, email me at svtdoug (at) gmail.com or send me a PM. We can do a TeamViewer session to figure out what happened to your log. There should be backups available if we can not find your original log.

Doug, thanks for the reply. What I mean by the services is in the settings (tab on far right of settings "services")

It's the in/out communication services that checks other .adif files for new log entries and adds them to log4om. The process is explained in the manual on page 168 "Integration with other software."

I set up WSJT-X jt65 software and added that .adif to the list of ones to communicate with and poof! I had over 4,500 logs in Log4om, now I only have 3,521. So over a thousand qso's vanished.

I will email you and thank you.

Brian

Followup - with a TeamViewer session we were able to recover Brian's lost QSO's.

Now we are looking into why this happened. It appears that the problem occurred when trying to use the Communicator/Inbound Settings/ADIF File Polling feature to get unlogged QSO's out of WSJT-X, rather than a conventional ADIF import. Investigating further.
