TS590s/OmniRig/Split Freq logs Split Freq - not RX Freq

I am using LOG4OM Version 1.23.0.0. and OmniRig V1.15: Using my TS590s in split mode and VFO A receiving and VFO B transmit , when I log a QSO the F1 Tab - Freq field - displays and logs the VFO B transmit frequency. I think it should be displaying the VFO A receive frequency instead. When sending a cluster spot this is a real problem plus I have to change the frequency manually in the filed to the receive freq before logging. Am I doing something wrong or is there a setting where I can swap the VFO being logged?

PS I have been using LOG4OM for a month now and this is a GREAT logger. Daniele and the team - Thank you for this incredible software. Now that I have it setup and have used it ,I will never go back to my old Logger. I plan to donate to help support LOG4OM. Thanks again.

Incorrect its your transmission (Transmit) frequency that you have to log by International law, either in split of normal operation - So the VFO being logged in split mode is correct!

The RX frequency is also recorded by Log4OM in the appropriate ADIF filed (Frequency RX) use the layout menu to display that if you wish

However sending the incorrect frequency when sending a cluster spot is a known issue that will be corrected in due course

BTW you should be using the latest version of Omnirig, its 1.16 and also download the latest Omnirig rig files

I disagree somewhat here as I know of no law that says you must log anything (in the U.S.A.). The U.K. could be different and Trry would know that.

And, generally a cluster spot is shown correctly with the DX transmit frequency as that is where to listen. If the spot was where I was transmitting it is of no use because it is not the DX frequency.

The ARRL only requires the band and mode with the frequency being of no use other then to determine the band.

May be different in the States Chuck but in Europe the logged frequency has to be the frequency of transmission (TX Frequency)

Also note that ADIF has two frequency fields - Frequency and Frequency RX, frequency by default is the transmit frequency so that is why we save the split TX freq to that field

Yes the dx spot facility has a fault when the radio is in split mode it is recording the users transmit freq not the Frequency RX which is the frequency that the DX station is transmitting on

So much for standards.

And, BTW:

I've known Dxpeditions that require their frequency, not your TX freq., or you'll not get a confirmation. I made that mistake once several years ago.

Terry,

As of v1.23, the dx tx freq (your RX freq) is the freq sent in spot reports. Lele fixed that! Just reconfirmed it by sending a split spot report.

Thanks for the replies .... interesting conversation. I also verified that the spots are sending the DX calling frequency so that is not an issue anymore. Also I have no issue with the fact the logging window TAB1 shows the split frequency. I now have both the logging fields "Frequency RX" and "Frequency" displaying on on the Recent QSO TAB8. When making QsLs I just use the "Frequency RX" field in confirmations. Appreciate all the info - and the explanations. 73 Bill N4iQ
