Hello, I have always used the portable version and when I downloaded an update, I just copied all of the new version into the folder of my portable version. When I do this with the 1.26 my settings are lost.
How can I update to 1.26 portable and keep my settings?

That is correct because all of your set up configuration files are in that folder

Running Log4OM portable here as well. When copying a new version over previous one, only replace those files having a more recent timestamp. Some file managers such as Total Commander offer the option "Overwrite all older" when copying.

Should I keep the entire config folder, or just the config.xmf file?
Some of the files in my current config folder are newer than those in that of the 1.26 and some are older.
So what would be the best practice to make the update?

Keep the complete config folder

There could well be updated files in a new download
e.g.
Bandplans
Contest text files etc., etc., etc...........................
Providing you retain all of your files that include the word 'User' in the title
e.g.
ClusterCommands_user.txt
ViewConfigurationContactedStationQSO_user.xml ........ etc., etc..........................
And the file named 'Config.xml'
Then all of your settings should be preserved
