New Callsign -> New Database vs New Config?

Hi,
Sorry if this probably simple question has already been answered somewhere, I spent some time searching here and in the manual and could not find an answer. I'm sure it's explained somewhere, but I'm still on the learning curve.

I have my Log4OM database and Config all correctly set for my current callsign AD0WG . It's configured for LoTW, QRZ.com and eQSL. Now I want to go back and add log entries made under my previous callsign, WD5CBI. I already have a QRZ.com logbook, an eQSL account and a LoTW certificate for my old callsign WD5CBI, so I intend to configure Log4OM to work with these after setting up Log4OM for WD5CBI.

I'm trying to understand the tradeoffs between creating a new Log4OM database for WD5CBI vs creating a new 'WD5CBI' config within my current database. Will either way work? Which way would be recommended in this case?

Thanks in advance & 73
Roger

Creating a new config for the other call sign will help you to speed up entering old QSO's manually and if you will at some time in the future use the old call sign to make new QSO's it will simplify the entry of new QSO's also.

You can either keep a separate database for each call sign or use one common database for both.

The latter allows lookup of all QSO's regardless of the call sign that you used and Log4OM provides filtering and search facilities for either call. e.g you could print labels for QSO's related to your old call only

In addition, one database with qso's for both call signs will allow you to accurately track awards like DXCC, if so desired.
