Paddle key Problems

Good morning.
I wonder if anyone can help I am using the Micro Keyer 11 and I am using a Begali Contour paddle key which is connected to the back of the keyer. I use the paddle key once I have made contact with a station however at times the key just produces a load of mumble jumble (no it not my sending
) can any help me with this and tell me what the problem is it is very frustrating, thanks in advance.
