I am running Log4OM ver 1.36.0.0 and MySQL ver 8.0
When I attempt to create a MySQL database ....... using \settings\database Fill in the information in the "yellow" block, select the 7 check boxes, this will create a database.
But when I attempt to "Check connection" I get the error "No database found"

thanks

Did you install MySql and it's toolkit as in the user guide

Why do you need a mySql database?

*****Why do you need a mySql database?

I will be using Log4OM in a network of more than one "client" providing inputs to the database.

*****Did you install MySql and it's toolkit as in the user guide

I installed "the toolkit" ( not 100% sure what you mean). The user guide is NOT written for MySQL 8.0

This raises the question, can I use MySQL 8.0 or do I have to use the older versions 5.x???

Yes you can use later versions of MySql

I asked why because many users don't have any reason to, but you clearly do

When I get chance I will update the user guide but fully involved in V2 just now.

You need to fully instal mySql before configuring Log4om to connect to it

When I installed MySQL I selected the "server" installation. I did not believe the "developer" configuration was necessary.
I have logged into MySQL via the command prompt as "root" and it does show the "log4om" database. My gut felling is this is a MySQL permissions problem.
