All:
I'm using Hamlib with an Elecraft K3S and noticed that the wide filters are selected whenever I click on a DX spot within he band map. This happens on CW and SSB. Is there a way to stop this from happening?
Thanks,

Use OmniRig.
I've been using it for years with my K3.

Re: Hamlib Sets Elecraft K3S Filter To Wide
I have the opposite problem with Hamlib and Flex 6xxx TCP interface. When clicking a cluster spot it chooses the narrowest filter width for the mode (50 Hz for CW, 1.8 kHz for SSB). It is a Hamlib issue.
Reason for using Hamlib instead of OmniRig is Hamlib will follow active slice on radio (I can have 8 RX slices). OmniRig only will support one slice at a time (one VFO).

Dave,
Ergo the options that we need to make all these APPs and machines happy with one another.
In my case I've never had any good/long-term luck with HamLib and I struggled for support many years ago and hit a brick wall with them.
It is a good thing there are some choices for us.

Re: Hamlib Sets Elecraft K3S Filter To Wide
I have switched from OmniRig to HamLib for the same reasons as Dave.
And glad Lele just worked on HamLib in last release and hoping for more.

Re: Hamlib Sets Elecraft K3S Filter To Wide
I agree OmniRig is more stable but limited in handling radios such as Flex with multiple slices (VFOs).
I am awaiting reply back from Hamlib developers if they can just remove the function where Hamlib is setting RX bandwidth. Or at least make it a command line option.

Re: Hamlib Sets Elecraft K3S Filter To Wide
Here is the reply I received from Hamlib developers.
Can a command be added into the Hamlib config to do what they suggest?
Dave wo2x
"Log4OM must be asking for the filter to be set. There's a RIG_PASSBAND_NOCHANGE they could pass in that would not set the filter.
Either you have to set your filter yourself to what you want it to be so when it is set it is what you want or report the problem to Log4OM support forum."

That did the trick Nolan.

Re: Hamlib Sets Elecraft K3S Filter To Wide
Hoping this can be fixed by next release.
I used Log4OM cluster this weekend looking for "new ones" in the SSB contest. It was pretty annoying to have to reset the filter for each station I clicked from cluster.
I finally switched back to OmniRig for the contest and then back to HamLib after.
