Sharing SQLite on shared drive

The user manual indicates that a SQLite database can be shared on a cloud drive and used by multiple instances of Log4OM V2 running. Note the manual warns against doing simultaneous updates (use MySQL for field day type events with multiple users).
I have two computers running Log4OM V2 in my house; one in the shack and one in my office (probably a BAD idea hi hi).
I added QSOs over the weekend to the database while in my shack. The Log4OM V2 in my office did not reflect the updates until I shutdown and restarted Log4OM there.
The manual says: "The user operates from his shack and the Dropbox log is updated and gets synchronized to the other two computers as QSO’s are added."
I'm not using Dropbox but a home network drive (a shared WD MyCloud drive) but I would have thought if it worked for Dropbox it would work for any shared drive.
Should it work with any shared drive? If not, is there a way to force a re-synch shy of a full program restart?
