IK4LZH Entry

I received an unsolicited email this morning from IK4LZH asking me to sign his QRZ.COM guestbook. I looked him up in my Log4OM and found a mysterious entry which was missing most of the information which would have been included in a legitimate QSO (like frequency). The QSO is in Log4OM, and in qrz.com and in LOTW (both of which are entered automatically when I'm using Log4OM) but not in eQSL.

I was not on the air at that time on 13 April. Does anyone have a clue how this entry appeared in my logbook?

Thanks, Steve, KØGUZ

Interesting. I got the same email.

But I have never worked him and he is not in my log.

A lot of those guys want the QRZ.com web contact and he is one doing that. How they SPAM people to do that I have no idea.

" was not on the air at that time on 13 April" That was only 3 hours ago. Are you sure you did not accidentally hit enter when you looked him up? I certainly have done that a few times.

Not got any mail but tried to call him 2day at 20m FT4. No response but as information i found
a complete set here: https://www.hamqth.com/9A/IK4LZH

There´s an email adress in so why ask him himself ?

I had Log4OM open and in the background when I checked the QRZ.COM web page for this callsign. Is there a back door into Log4OM which interacts with qrz.com to record phony QSOs?

Signing the Web Contact isn't confirming a QSO. I compare it to a "Friend" request from Facebook. Some hams just like getting a lot of calls on their Web Contact page. In this case, it's harmless. As to how he got your e-mail address, my guess would be from your QRZ page. I got the request also, and signed the Web Contact. No harm, no foul.
