USB cable type and ECHO Back in IC-7610

I have tried everything known to mankind to get a working connection going between my IC-7610 and Log4OM latest V2 + OmniRig 1.19. All setup parameters in the radio, log4om, and OnniRig appear correctly set, but no luck so far. I can click on any cluster spot and the frequency of that spot chages correctly at the top of Log4OM but the radio's frequency/band/mode does not change. Log4OM does not seem to be talking to the radio and vice versa.
I am wondering if there may be an incompatibility issue going on here by not using the correct USB cable type, USB port on the PC, and "EchoBack" setting, whatever that is", in the radio's menu? Any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

Hi Bob,
single or double click ? Double click in the cluster change band, frequency and some other
things in main UI. Single click only tranferring the Call to the main UI.

1. Did you install the ICOM USB drivers before connecting radio to the pc? If not read the Icom user guide
2. Has the 7610 EVER worked with ANY pc software or is this your first attempt?
3. Do you see a frequency display at top of log4om window?
4. If you see a freq in log4om does it change as you tune the radio?
5. Are you using a standard printer type usb cable?

1. Yes, I saw that warning in the manual. Device manager shows installed comport Hidden from View.
2. No, only with log4om v1 and then v2. Also worked reliably with WSJT-X before stopping.
3. Only frequency display at top of log4om window is from clicking on any spot on the cluster. Not coming from IC-7610.
4. No.
5. Yes, standard USB 2.0 type printer cable. All USB ports on PC are 3.0.
Getting late. Will try a new download and fresh install of Log4OM V2 and OmniRig tomorrow.

Did you close WSJT (And all other programs) when starting and running Log4OM?

When you say at top do you mean directly under the drop down menus or in the input window?

Dont waste your time that will not fix it

There are some settings in Icom radios that may be essential in order to work with log programs. This is from the rig control page (p 52) in the Minos VHF/UHF contest logging program user guide and may be relevant:
you need to ensure that "CI-V Echo Back" is "ON" in the settings
All Icom rigs need Transceive OFF and USB Port Link to remote.
