Hi
Firstly I would like to congratulate you on a fantastic program, easy to use and full of great features. I have set up the program and got the cluster working fine, I entered my rig details and purchased a lead to connect the rig to USB. When I plug and unplug the USB I am getting the chimes ok but the program does not see the rig, I have tried changing the comm ports to no avail, though the 2 comm buttons on the bottom string turn green. I am running XP where am I going wrong!!
Regards
John

Hi John,
You must identify some information before you begin
In the device manger of Windows you will see Ports (Com & LPT) see image below
With your rig turned on and the cable from the rig to the computer connected make a note of all of the com port numbers (COM1, COM2 etc)
Unplug the cable and check which port disappeared
Plug the cable back in and check that the COM port has reappeared
You have now ascertained what com port the rig is connected to
Next in the rigs menu find what 'Baud' rate is set - In an Icom menu its probably called CI-V Baud Rate.
Once armed with the correct COM port number and Baud rate you can now set up Log4OM
Please install Omnirig because I find it works best for Icom rigs, then follow the instructions in the Log4OM user guide on page 26 >> relating to Omnirig
User guide is available in the help menu or from
http://www.pisto.it/wordpress/log4om-en/
Your Omnirig set up window should look like the second screenshot below but of course with your COM port number and Baud rate
If you still can't connect please let me know what interface cable you purchased

Have you ensured that the baud rate is correct?
The only other suggestion is have you done a factory reset of the rig? If not I suggest that you do so

Hi Terry
Just got a replacement cable and trying to get the rig talking to the pc got the omni rig client open all is configured right though I have tried the baud rate higher and lower to no avail all the other settings are the same as the screen shot, so when I open a dialog all that comes back is rig is not responding
so it is in the ci-v settings which are
Baud rate 9600
Address 64h
Tranceive On
With IC 731 OFF
Is this correct?
Regards
John
