After changing this setting in Program Configuration and clicking Save and Apply, the change is not applied. You must close and restart the program for it to be applied.

Not sure if this is considered a bug or is desired, but the result is not intuitive.

Had you changed or refreshed a grid then the change would be applied, unless of course you had the grid display count in the lower right corner set to a lower value that that which you just set the default to.
