User configuration

A nice option is available: User configuration in Settings, making it possible to use more logdatabases/callsigns.

As Configuration ID a key is assigned, consisting of a string of numbers and characters. In the Description field one can find the callsign concerned. But in first instance one has to choose a non-significant string from a list and then the callsign is presented. In case of 1 or 2 different databases/callsigns this not a problem, but using a number of databases/callsigns it is difficult to find the appropriate configuration.

Is it possible to use a symbolic name instead of a key-string?
With regards, Martin/PA0MBD (using V2.9.0.0)

Martin,

Looking at my User Configuration and the Configuration ID ... immediately below that I had entered in a description for that file. Seems to me that option will best answer your question as it is already in place and available for use by each OM.

Hello Nolan, tnx for the reply.
Yes, the callsign is presented below the key-string. But managing about 25 databases/profiles/callsigns it means I have to scroll through the list and trying each key for its significance to find the right profile. Perhaps this procedure can be more secure and user-friendly.

Martin is correct - as is changing a user is somewhat involved & tedious.
IMHO a user should be selected from a simple drop-down list outside of the settings menu.
