Propagation module calculation method ?

Good evening to all,

I use Log4om a lot and I really appreciate all its features.

I'm wondering how the propagation module for calculating graphs and maps works.

When I compare the results with VOACAP, it's very different.

For example, at the end of yesterday afternoon on 40m, Log4om shows me totally in the "black" as well as France, Holland, Belgium, which means that hearing/contacting F -ON-PA stations... is not normally "possible".

On the other hand, VOACAP indicated just the opposite (I had indicated Pwr:30W - TX-RX dipole antenna at 17 Feet/ground).

 I speak well of the graphic side F9 because in the Graph tab it corresponds +/-.

All information is welcome.

Actual VOACAP calculations are based to a library provided by Alex VE3NEA, that is made from a porting of the original VOACAP engine.
The actual implementation doesn't support different antenna types, so only standard dipole is available on both side of the field.

Hello Daniele,

Thanks for your answer and information.
I try to better understand the evolution of propagation with some software or web-services.
