Club .dat file integration

For about a year I've been Log4OM for general logging and I'm really happy with it. I'm a member of the FOC CW club (g4foc.org) and the club resources include a download of a binary FOC.DTA file to instantly see if contacts entered into the Logger32 program callsign field are FOC members, and to show their names and membership numbers. (I've not tried Logger32 but I guess the membership number comes up in a comments field.) My knowledge of how to handle PC software is lousy, having spent 35+ years using Macs. Is it possible to use the data file with Log4OM and if so, how would I set it up? Thanks, Bob

If you convert the dat file to a csv file you could build an FOC award with it

Thanks Terry. I'll look into that. I guess FOC membership is too limited to make it worthwhile adding the capability to the main log but perhaps other clubs that maintain membership lists of this type may find it useful too. CWOps has a much larger list, for example. I appreciate the fast support!

Bob,
The other issue is that the more databases that you want to tearch for membership during call sign input the slower lookup becomes so it's always a trade off.

Probably would be best added as a user option with the lookup happening soon after the main data lookup so that QSO input is not too badly slowed down.

The most efficient way is by using it as an award so that it can be checked as required which is why I suggested that route.
