Exchanging ideas

Post by CT1BXX »

Thank you very much for the new version, a good Christmas present. thanks Daniele and the team. :D

The attached image is on page 32 of the manual.
I will talk about my opinion, which would seem more interesting to me.
It would be more precise and logical to follow the pattern at the top.

Instead of the lower part being only "Country Worked Status", it should be like the upper part "Country Confirmation Status", following precisely the same color code. That way, we have not only the Worked Status, but also the rest of the information.
Also, putting a country in green, when it is just worked, generates some conflict of concept, with the top information , perhaps chaging green to other else would help, but the ideal would be to follow the same pattern of information sampling: "Country Confirmation Status", and not the worked status a little ambiguous in my opinion.

What is your opinion?

In the same way I think that we should never mix "Worked" with "Confirmed".

I still think that"Worked" is the status of a qso as soon as I save it after I finish the contact.
Worked is when we contact and we do not have any type of confirmation either physical (QSL card) or electronic (LOTW, Eqsl...).
In the "Award Status" we have the first option "Show worked only" if the option is "worked only" it should show nothing more than the "woked" one's (with no confirmation at all). Here, I see everything "W GRA V" :?

I believe that behind a resolution there is always a reason, it must be the case, however, for me I still have not been able to understand.

I would be very grateful for your comments, or help to clarify :D

Merry Christmas and Prosperous New Year to all.

The upper matrix is Country/Band/mode/Call entered ----- CONFIRMATION status where as the lower matrix is country/mode/band/call entered WORKED status

So they serve separate functions

BTW you need to update your user guide it is out of date!

The purpose of 'Show worked only' is to remove countries which have not been worked from the display thereby removing all blank rows.

It is not for displaying countries which have been worked but not confirmed by any confirmation method

However I do think that we could have another filter in 'Statistics view' when the 'Award view' check box is unchecked for worked but unconfirmed, so the filter list would then be

Worked All
Worked unconfirmed
EQSL
LOTW
QSL

This may however require some more in depth filtering because some users may wish to see Worked but unconfirmed by LOTW or any other combination of confirmation methods

Terry,

Thanks

Excellent idea to add also the option:

Worked All
Worked unconfirmed.

That's brilliant . :D
