ADI file size reduced to Zero

Terry,

I am asking this question for a friend, and I do not have his computer details or software version info available. So I am asking for a generic answer. He uses Log4OM2 NextGen.

His problem is --- his log file went from having about 200,000 contact to 0 byte size. Luckily he had a backup which he drew from WSJT-X which was interfaced.

Question 1. Generically speaking, what happened for the file to go to 0 bytes?
Question 2. Generically speaking, did the file really go to 0? Was it unwittingly moved someplace else? [not sure if this guy did a computer search for the file]

I may have read about this problem in the past on the forum, but I can not find the discussion when I search.

Thanks for your help.

Danny,
Really need more info because your post title refers to an ADIF file but in the message you refer to his log file which is an sqlite file.

Are you saying no QSO'S are displayed in the recent QSO window or the guy is folder surfing and thinks he sees an anomaly?

Did he set log4om backups or is he relying on the marginal data saved in a WSJT log file

Perhaps the zero bite file is wsjt

What does 200000 refer to QSO'S bytes/bits or what!
