not connected to any database...unable to register 1 QSO

Hi,

I just have installed Log4om, and try to log my first QSO.
I have filled the config with my QTH, callsign and so on.
When I try to register a qso (either [enter] or [ADD]) i get the message "not connected to any database..."
So, I go in the file menu, open a database that exists (i made several tests), but the result remains the same. I have no QSO written in the database.
There is several SQlite files on my disk, as I made several tests. The last time, I only write my callsign and locator (the 2 red zones in the template) to go faster.

What have i missed ? :?:
I join the log.txt

Thank you for the help.

Hi whatever your name may be????

I suggest that you delete the numerous databases that you created and start from the beginning as follows:

1. Open the Log4om options and enter your personal data in the "Station information" tab - Complete ALL fields and click the floppy disk save icon
2. Goto file/new database and enter a meaningful name for your database - Click the SAVE button

When you have clicked the save button the program automatically opens your new EMPTY database

3. Enter a call sign and any other details in the QSO entry window shown below and click ADD or press ENTER on your keyboard
4. Click the "Recent QSO (F8)" tab to see the entry that you aded in step 3

good evening,
I tried the sequence you described. The pb is the same .
hereafter are the screencopy of the station params, and error windows I get each time i try to record the qso (as the one whose image you sent) I filled or importing an adif file.
i tried too the compatibility option of Windows (i use W7) and the pb is the same.
I also have erased all the log4om files after uninstalling the software -> always the same...

I dont know what i missed

thank you for the help
Patrick

me again,
I have done the steps with a great attention.
1st = ok
2nd = OK
3rd = KO -> same message
I tried with antivirus stopped, on a 2nd PC (W7 also).

after having created database, if I want to open a database, a message in red appears fastly (< 1/2 sec) LOADING DATABASE PLEASE....at the right of the satellite antenna on the toolbar .
and after if I try the 3rd step, it fails.
I join the 2 copy of windows, the one of the database save, the full screen with error msg.

I don't understand what is the pb....... it must be enormous, but ?

Thank you
Patrick

I don't think the profile was saved

After entering your details did you click the floppy disk icon to save the profile?

Have you re-downloaded Log4OM and reinstalled? You have have gotten a bad or partial download.

Remember to uninstall Log4OM before reinstalling.

hi,
yes I click on the floppy, to save the station datas. and I find it back when I close
About the software, I tried 2 different downloads (uninstalling between each) , either the portable on a usb key.
It is very strange.
last ideas I have, this morning :
1)have a look in the windows system logs (event log).
2)And what about starting with Mysql ? is it more heavy ? That because the msg is about the connection to database

next step to go ...

let we have an hard therapy :)
1) start log4om
2) open SETTINGS -> OPTIONS menu, tab SETTINGS 1. In the top right side of the screen you can find 2 checkboxes: debug mode and SQL debug mode. Check both (they will automatically uncheck on restart)
3) create a new database (or open current database). You should notice database name in the bottom right part of the main user interface
if "NOT CONNECTED" doesn't change please go to HELP -> SHOW LOG and save the log.

Send log by mail to iw3hmh [at] pisto [dot] it

We will find the bastard bug inside :)
