Log4OM

Hello all,

After using another logging program for almost 10 years I have switched to the magnificent Log4OM. All has been running fine for a couple of days but now I get an error message keep popping up...

Unhandled exception has occurred in your application.

The path is not a legal form.

Continue or Quit.

I am running Windows 7 and Log4OM as Administrator and I uninstalled then reinstalled the program but still the error message keeps appearing. If I close the Communicator the error message doesn't appear.

Any help greatly appreciated as I really like this Logging program.

What version of Log4om are you running?

Did you try an uninstall and reinstall?

Version 1.17.1 is the version I downloaded. Tried an uninstall then reinstall but the error still appears. It doesn't appear until I start Communicator though.

Chris,
In Log4OM options/settings 1 there is a debug mode checkbox, please check this box and save the config

Now start the communicator

Click continue on the unhanded exception window

In Log4om help menu select "Show log" save it as a text file and email it to me please. - Do not post the log file on the forum!

Hi Chris, you're probably having a strange set of characters in your path to Log4OM database (.sqlite)
Your log generated by the software will greatly help finding the issue.

I uninstalled and did a reinstall putting my logbook in a different folder and the error still appears when I start communicator. Don't think it's a software issue but more likely my PC at fault. Running Windows 7 64 bit.

Are you on Skype or do you have Teamviewer installed?

Don't use Skype Terry, I may be right in saying there is a configuration file I may need to edit to stop the error appearing?

I have the same problem, also running Windows 7 64 bit. The previous version of Log4OM worked fine , but when I updated to 17.1.1, communicator will no longer run.
The previous version I was running was version 16.0
