I do not understand

Post by F6FLU »

Hello

I do not understand :

1) In the settings I confirm "Overwrite user gridsquare in main UI

2) I contact R7AB/M who is on a mobile in "Asian Russia", so I type his call R7AB/M but I do not validate;
I don't use the "Tab" key

3) I click on Country to change "European Russia" with "Asian Russia"
4) I change the Grid to NO35cn
5) I change the CQ and ITU zones to CQ 18 and ITU 31
6) I validate "State (F2)" with "Kemerovskaya Oblast"

7) and I validate with "Enter"

Log4OM ignores my changes
The Grid reverts to KN95 (which is the base locator of R7AB) and does not take the typed locator (NO35cn)
The CQ and ITU zones return to their initial values CQ16 and ITU20

I do not understand what to do that in the Log Log4OM take into account what I typed and not what is by default

I definitely missed something

If you have any ideas to guide me
Thanks

Thank you Daniele
it's quite annoying especially at the moment with R7AB's trip, but he's back to Russia from Europe now, he probably has to finish tomorrow...
but the most disturbing thing is that if we enter the CQ fields ITU and even Locator Log4om does not take this into account and puts these fields back by default, in any case if a field is modified in the input window, Log4Om should not intervene in these fields...

anyway thanks for watching
available if needed of course

there was a small issue on gridsquare that i've fixed.
The flag works that way:
Flag set = external source will OVERWRITE user settings during QSO external data parsing phase
Flag NOT set = external source will NOT overwrite a VALID gridsquare set by user

There is a glitch on the field description (?) i'm fixing

All other fields are overwritten during external data scan, nothing excluded (except grid as indicated above)

System cannot understand all potential situations and usage patterns, the rule is "overwrite everything with certified information".

So, in that case, the right way to work is to perform an external source scan and THEN update fields on the user interface that needs to be fixed/amended. If the counterpart reports a gridsquare on radio (it's unlikely reporting a CQ zone during a qso...) the gridsquare is kept if the flag in the user preferences is NOT checked.

Packing new alpha version for internal tests, then i'll release as a beta

I still have the same problem, that is to say that if I change for example the Country in the user interface and I validate the QSO, well Log4OM absolutely does not take into account my changes in the UI
For example the call R7AB/P
If I type R7AB/P in the Call field, by default Log4OM selects "Asian Russia" but it is portable in "European Russia"
So I change the country to "European Russia" and I validate the QSO

Well Log4OM ignores my change and logs me "Asian Russia"

it is of course the same thing if I change the value of the ITU zone for example I change the CQ zone from 20 to 19 and I validate and Log4OM still does not take it into account and logs the QSO with the ITU zone 20 which is default
It's still annoying that Log4OM does not quite simply log what we have selected in the UI, I have to take a lot of QSOs because I had not paid attention to it before

Lele tells me that there is a flag to validate but I don't see this flag in version V 2.24.0.0?
Where is the flag located please?

I have just tested with and without the update flag checked and with and without lookup activated when leaving field and by using tab and find the same result.

The only way to change country, Grid and ITU &CQ zones is to save the QSO with incorrect data then edit the QSO afterwards. Any edit done while logging, even after the online lookup, results in the information being overwritten by lookup info on saving.

I have notified Lele
