Desktop link has vanished

I have he latest version of LOG4OM installed. I just booted up my PC and the desktop link is now a blank white box. Message says the file has moved or no longer exists.

I looked in the folder where its installed an there are three .exe files, but L4ONG.exe can't be found.
Where would this file be located, and what is the file name to execute the program?

Additional info - I just searched the entire drive and the file that the link refers to L4ong.exe does not exist. Assuming it somehow got deleted, would reinstalling the latest version over the existing version fix this? BTW, its not in the "trash" folder

Very strange, first time this has happened.

I think I may have an idea what happened.

When I started the PC this evening I recall seeing a brief notice that Windows Defender "detected a threat". I thought nothing of it, but I'm wondering if it deleted the file? Again, this has never happened, and Windows 10 has not done any updates since I updated the latest version of LOG4OM.

Hopefully, a reinstall will get be up and running? I'm tempted to try, but I'm going to wait and see what the team says.
Thanks to you all!

Try a reinstall or alternatively just create a desktop shortcut to the Log4OM exe file

You should make an exception for Log4OM in your virus software and firewall

The log4om file is gone. Can I get a copy from another install and copy it to my pic, or can I download it from somewhere?

I did a reinstall and it fixed the problem. The only remaining issue is that the desktop icon is still a blank white box, though working. Not sure how to get the original LOG4OM logo back.

I also created an exception. Here's a link in case anyone has this problem

You said "Windows 10 has not done any updates since I updated the latest version of LOG4OM". You might want to check the Definition Updates under Update History. The Defender updates get installed quite frequently, without any action from you, and without notifying you.
