Hi,
I've read a similar topic and the documentation: it seems the log4om should run with normal user privileges as is the best security practice. The documentation also claims on page 14 that unless the omnirig is needed, "run as admin" is not required.
However, trying to run it without admin privileges on my Windows 10 failed.
Windows OS build 19045.2486
Log4om: 2.26.0
The installation directory is NOT the "default" directory.
I tried to install it without the admin privileges and, due to the failure I installed it with the admin privileges, but then ran it without -- in both cases I have received the same error message:
If I start a second instance of the log4om I can actually get over the error message (I can click on OK) to see the empty main screen
So, am I doing something wrong OR is the documentation wrong in saying that log4om can run without the admin privileges?
Thanks

Admin Privileges are NOT required as you noted that you read in the User Guide.
However ... you did not let the installation routine select the default directories.
I recommend you remove your current installation and the let the V 2.26.0 install package select the default directories.
I run on W-10 Pro myself and have no issues. BTW ... I let the installer package do it's thing.

OK, thanks. I'll try it although my C: drive is almost full, so I moved it to D:... It's not that I'm playing for fun with directories
Best regards

Re: Windows 10 permissions required
Hi, folks,
I did try to install it now on the C: drive (the default directory) and ended up with the same problem (screenshots are above).
Any other ideas?
Thanks

Your screen shot clearly says 'Not connected to a database' lower right corner!
I suspect the error screen you refer to is the prompt tellong you to create a database File/New Database?
Admin priveledges have nothing to do with your issue unless you want to run FT8 software at the same time but it looks like you have not got as far as using Log4OM yet so ignore it for now
