Search by suffix

Post by Iw7dol »

It would be very useful and convenient to be able to search for calls worked before also using the suffix.
For now, you can only search by the prefix, while in all other logging programs, you can also search by a couple of letters.

But surely it already does?

I have entered G4POP/GD0 as a QSO

When I type GD0 in the call field it displays the /GD0 contact in the WB4 window as well as GD0TEP, see below

You refered to suffix which is the trailing /Prefix not call sign body

What is the advantage of searching for the part of a call unassociated with the country identifier/prefix/suffix? you will get hundreds of results even on a moderate sized log of say 10K QSO's

I can see the benefit. I can often remember the suffix of someones call but cant remember what their prefix was. For whatever reason the suffix sticks with me.

Hi

One idea that could help the purpose:

Within "Recent QSO's (F7) you can do it with the filter:

Use Callsign
log.callssign like %the suffix to look for%"

Please see what I have if I do it for "XX" suffix

I understand that perhaps it is an unattainable request. Yet I found it very useful on HRD when I listened to the final part of a callsign and could tell if it was already logged or not. This, for example, during satellite activities where the stations are almost always the same and you don't have to waste time during the passage.
