Update alerts not appearing

Hi, I was using 2.23.0.0 release and even if "check for updates" in program settings was checked, updates notices weren't displayed so I missed them. Did it depend on my settings? However I updated to 2.27.1.0 now.

go to Settings / Program Configuration / click the very first item called "Program Settings" and in the right hand side, click in the box called "Check for updates" then click Save and Apply at the top

I had already done that setting with the previous version and now.
