it is not a question on ARRL DXCC Desk .. I think

are they trasmitting from malawy ?
are they traced in QRZ.com ?
so they should be recognized, !!!

for the ARRL DXCC Desk we will see :)

As a pirate you can make a qrz.com entry, there is no verification needed. All you need is a guy in the forum at qrz who makes your entry "official" ...... The only calls in qrz.com which are verified are the US calls, they will be uploaded by the FCC

B.t.w. 1B1AB and his wife are in qrz.com but they not valid for the DXCC ... so in Chucks databases you wouldn´t find them .... Z63MED is transmitting from "Kosovo" and you find him at qrz.com but he´s not valid for DXCC .... and so on ... qrz.com is only a "extended Callsign database" (like hamcall) and nothing more ;) ;)

Hi Don,

you don´t must accept my opinion ... Let´s wait what Chuck says. Could be possible that the "7QNL" is valid for DXCC. If that is fact i´m shure Chuck will update the call in the database ;-) ;-)

DXCC is a choice, but we needed to choose a reference to decide what is "real" from what is "fake".
you can log everything you want, you can also create virtual worlds in country.xml file and make Log4OM able to recognize everything, but we need to choose a reference and we choosed the most recognized one (that is, btw, following ITU recommendations)

Hi Guys,
This call, 7QNL, is not a legal call per both the ARRL and the ITU assignments.

ALL calls have a number following the legal prefix and in this case it would be 7Q as the prefix.

Therefore the country file will remain as it is without any changes.

Also, if this call is good, the Log4OM call sign resolution logic would require changing as it now follows the ITU and ARRL conventions noted above.

Maybe it's Blue Beard the famous pirate.

7Q prefix is in the DXCC list and also appears as Malawi in the RSGB Prefix Guide

Additionally Clublog lists it as Malawi DXCC 440

See images below from the DXCC list and Clublog
