Mode report is not correct - Help

I am using an ICOM IC756PRO interfaced with Omni-Rig. Whenever RTTY mode is selected on the radio, the mode on the QSO info (F1) is reported as SSB. I observe that LOG4OM Communicator reports Mode "PM_DIG_U", but Mode for Log is "SSB." When the radio is in SSB or CW, the mode is reported correctly. Am I overlooking something and is there a way I can correct this?

Hello Rick.. as you are using an Icom, maybe some of the info here http://www.pisto.it/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=808 may prove useful.

Thanks, however the other topic did not help. Omni-Rig is reporting the right command back to the Log4OM Communicator as illustrated by the Mode PM_DIG_U, however the Mode for log is wrong at SSB. Is this conversion done in Communicator or does the Omni-Rig INI file have to be modified so that it does not report the PM_DIG_U string?

Hi Rick,
Invariably it's the Omnirig ini file that needs changing, if you have problems then give me a shout and I will do it for you

After rereading the other post on ICOM radios and Omnirig. I have come to some observations.
1. The IC-756PRO will follow the clicking on a spot and go to the right frequency and mode.
2. Log4OM mode will follow the modes selected on the IC-756PRO for SSB, CW, AM, and FM. But, will go to SSB when the radio is placed in RTTY.
3. The reason is the radio sends the command for DIG, Omnirig sends that to Commander, however Commander not knowing what mode of digital sends SSB to Log4OM for log entry. A development to cause the Log4OM to assume RTTY was shelved.
4. I do not know how to change the Omnirig ini file for the IC-756PRO to send RTTY to Commander.
5. HAMLIB works, so I am using that.

When the rig switches to digital modes a lot of filters are removed and audio is set to his correct extension to transmit and receive digital signals at his best.
But the radio cannot know what kind protocol will transmitted through audio input. Olivia, rtty, psk are the same.
Cat will only report the audio mode, that is digital and basically a ssb.
Log4OM cannot know what is the mode, because doesn't take care digital modes now.
It's the digital mode software that know what the protocol in use and, if connected, will save the mode in the log file.
