Omnirig and Log4om

I have a new to me Kenwood TS-590S that I am trying to establish CAT control with so it will communicate with Log4om. My question is regarding Omnirig settings. I have a Kenwood TS-480SAT that works perfectly set up on Rig 1 in Omnirig, and I have attempted to set Rig 2 as the TS-590S, with no joy. I am using the USB connection to the TS-590S, and it works perfectly with the Kenwood ARCP-590 rig control software, so I know the connection there is good.

Here are the particulars

Log4om 2 version - 2.27.1.0
Omnirig version 1.2
Both of these are run as administrator
Virtual COM port drive from Kenwood has been installed and is working (hence the connection with the ARCP software

Current Omnirig setup is as follows-
Rig type - TS-590
Port - COM7 (from Device Manager)
Baud rate - 115200
Data bits - 8
Parity - None
Stop bits - 1
RTS - High (had this originally set at Low and it didn't work)
DTR - High (had this originally set at Low and it didn't work)
Poll int.,ms - 1000
Timeout, ms - 2000

Would someone be so kind as to show their Omnirig settings? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Charles,

Not sure I can get to the bottom of the issue you are experiencing, but I'll put out a few items to help in trouble-shooting or unpeeling the onion as I'm often heard saying when it comes to debugging 'stuff'. ;)

1) Run both Omnirig and Log4OM in "regular" mode. Do NOT run at Administrative levels.
2) Do NOT run/connect any 3rd party APPS (IE: WSJTx, JTDX, Gridtracker, JTAlert, etc..) to Log4OM, Rig, etc..
3) Be sure you have the latest OmniRig V1.9 d/l'd and installed.
4) Be sure you also have the most current Rig.INI zip files d/l'd and installed.
5) Do NOT d/l and confuse things with what is known at Omnirig-2 or Multirig-2. That APP won't work in Log4OM.

Turn on Log4OM and your rig (one at a time) and start setup.

1) (for testing) Set up Rig-1 to connect to the rig you are having problems with - The TS-590s.
2) Get the CAT link working between Log4OM and the TS-590s making sure baud rates, etc., etc. are set.
3) Once you are comfortable with that CAT link then add Rig-2 - TS-480SAT and make sure all is good there.

No magic here and only reverses your Rig-1 and Rig-2 selections, but just (in my view) a clear plate to start "each" rig's CAT connection to see if working.

I'm thinking that the "Admin" level might be an issue and/or if you also happen to have 3rd party APPs connected as well.

So ... (back to unpeeling the onion) ... just going back to basics to see if individual CAT connects can be made without other interferences causing issues.

Let me know.

Also make sure you install the latest drivers for that radio. I would not rely on the fact that the OEM software connects.

The setup and 210x drivers can be found here.

Thanks Nolan and Rich for replying. I think Dave has me up and running. Unsurprisingly, it was operator error. I wasn't familiar enough with Omnirig to figure out what I needed to do to change from rig 1 to rig 2. Dave pointed me in the right direction.

Thanks again for the help!

Charles,
Any chance you can share what you learned about changing from rig 1 to rig 2? I think I have the same issue
