County Name Format
County Name Format
I use GridTracker to chase counties, and recently they added a County column to a logging screen. I now notice that many counties I have worked do not appear. Seems the Log4OM2 v2.35.1.0 sometimes logs the county by just it's name, and other times it is logged as State,County. (ie. Ottawa vs MI,Ottawa. The MI,Ottawa entries appear properly in GridTracker, but just Ottawa ends up being blank. Seems this change in county name format is happening most of the time when in Contest Mode. Any suggestons? Thanks, Herb WB8ASI
Re: County Name Format
Just now finishing participation in the Florida QSO Party (with LOG4OM in Contest Mode) I can confirm that the County is being logged without the State Prefix....thus not per ADIF spec. (I have to change it anyways if the station is mobile and moving thru different counties). However, when not in Contest Mode, the County is logged properly as State,County per ADIF spec. Not a huge deal, but took me a long time to find it. 73, Herb WB8ASI

Re: County Name Format
Hi, in order to check your case i need:
1) your configuration (who is logging into Log4OM? manual input? external software via network connection?)
2) what is your info provider? (qrz.com, hamqth, qrzcq, others)
3) a callsign example
have you checked if the external application is providing that kind of info? Usually Log4Om saves what is coming from outside without changes (if you don't have set the data analysis in the incoming tcp connection)

Re: County Name Format
Thanks Daniele. Your questions prompted me to dig a little deeper. Seems that I'm noticing this issue while in Contest Mode since I'm chasing counties, but now I don't see the Contest as being the problem. I just tried logging several calls manually including my own, and it always just retrieves the County name without including the State. I also just made a few FT8 QSOs, and they logged properly as State,County when logged by WSJT-X. I needed a few counties in the recent Florida QSO Party, and have a couple dozen logged (all manual) and everyone needed to be edited to add the State to the County name. I'm usually after DX, so never really noticed the County issue until recently when GridTracker was not showing counties I know I had worked. If I get a LOTW confirmation for a log entry, the State,County issue is fixed at that time. EXAMPLE: I worked WD8MPQ a couple days ago on SSB, and logged it manually. The County was recorded as Kalkaska. I edited it to be MI,Kalkaska to get credit for it in GridTracker. When receiving LOTW confirmation, it was changed to MI,KALKASKA // Kalkaska. I use QRZ.com for my info source. I'd be glad to try some other testing if it will help. Thanks,Herb WB8ASI
