It sounds like you have not set the location to send the ADIF to or provided a name for the ADIF file by clicking the "Open" button if you are exporting from the File/export ADIF menu.

Alternatively if you are exporting from the QSO manager menu then I suspect that you have not selected and QSO's for export.

Thanks so much Terry you were 100% correct managed to get the box working with the ADIF file selected.
when i click export i get a green bar as it exports and top of screen says export in progress. then export box just hangs when green bar is full doesn't give an option where to save it to

Hi alan... when you have selected the file name, and pushed export button, at the end of the green bar the file should be in the place you set in the first step.
Let me know if you have troubles

M1TAP has sent me a PM saying that the video helped and he can now export his ADIF OK

In passing he mentioned that he had difficulty connecting to his FT990 so the usual questions

1. Can you connect to the rig with any other ham software using the same USB to serial cable and on the same computer
2. Is the Baud rate set in Omnirig the same as set in the FT990 menu
3. Is the com port selected in Log4OM definitely the one the rig is connected to
4. Are the DTR and RTS settings correct for the rig
5. Have you tried a factory reset of the rig
