Log4OM Ver 1.37 N1MM and Update Info

Post by G0MGM » 29 May 2019, 19:50

Hello

Im new to the forum but have been using Log4OM for sometime. Great program.

I installed the latest version and set up the UDP link between N1MM+ and Log4OM and it works great.

On thing Im not able to work out is when I go into QSO Archive and select those QSOs that have come in from N1MM, I then click Update info. I get the usual notification it is updating but, no info I can see is updated.

In the past I have exported the ADIF file from N1MM and then Updated info and fields get updated.

Am I doing something wrong?

Most of the updates are done automatically as the QSO's arrive from N1MM but I just checked anyway and the update progress bar and end notification are working here in V 1.37 on Windows 10 machine, see below.

HI Terry

Yes I agree, I see that on mine too, but I thought that when you clicked on Update info it would update Country, name etc. Is that not right?

Rob,
The update information comes from the on line data provider that you selected (QRZ, HamQTH etc) so the update date depends on what is provided from those sources.

However because N1MM does not provide basic info like DXCC we update that information at the time the qso is received from N1MM.

So the short answer is that the Update info system will update a field like country if that field is empty but it will not overwrite existing information found to be in that field.

What are you trying to achieve and what is Log4OM not doing for you?

HI Terry

Well for example, I have just finished the 80m CC contest, and these are the QSOs I have just completed on N1MM+ and they have passed through to Log4OM prefectly.

So now I have selected them in QSO Archive, and clicked on Update info. I am seeing the green status bar at the bottom left, but the Country field is not filled in after the update is finished. I was expecting the Country field to be filled in.

Ok go to field update and select verify country from call sign, then execute it

This is because N1MM does not send the country or the dxcc number

Ah thanks, that worked. I thought the Update info would do it but will remember that option.

Thank you

Rob,
I am puzzled why we did not update the country and DXCC when the QSO was received from N1MM

Can you please check that the Options/services check box for 'Analyse inbound QSO and improve data quality' is checked?
