Radio/Log4OM not communicating

Post by G4IUA »

I've upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 64bit. I no longer have communication between my transceiver (FlexRadio 6500) and Log4OM. I've attached a screengrab showing the problem. Whilst Communicator reports 'TCP connection to Log4OM' the radio's frequency is not displayed. Otherwise, the upgrade to Win 10 went smoothly. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any help!

Jeff,
The communicator has nothing to do with the CAT connection to the radio, its purely there to enable connection to external programs like PSTRotator, FLDigi, DM780 etc.

You should have CAT control direct to your radio via Omnirig regardless of running the Communicator.

So what's your problem? probably something to do with the interface connection and there are some known instances where a USB driver has been changed by Windows 10 thereby causing the com port not to connect.

What interface between the computer and the radio are you using?

Have you checked that the com port or baud rate has not been changed?

Are you sure that its not a firewall or anti virus software blocking the communication?

Thanks Terry - all sorted. I'm not 100% sure what caused the problem, but I had quite a few problems with setting up CAT ports after reinstalling FlexRadio's SmartSDR, all due to the upgrade to Windows 10. I'd forgotten about OmniRig's role in all this, and had to change port settings there to match the virtual ports created in the FlexRadio setup. All a learning curve!

Thanks
