I am running LOG4OM 1.21.0.0 on a Windows 7 laptop. LOG4OM pulls the Frequency and Mode from my Yaesu FT-100D by way of OmniRig. This function works well generally, except when I use my LDG YT-100 antenna tuner. Depressing the Tune button on the YT-100 initiates the antenna tuning, but seems to break the connection between the Yaesu FT-100D and the displayed frequency and mode in LOG4OM. I think the break is between the FT-100D and OmniRig.
The YT-100 was designed to work with the Yaesu FT-100 (D) and some other Yaesu radios. When the tuning is initiated the tuner will force the transceiver into AM mode, change the power level to one that is appropriate for tuning, and key the radio. When tuning
is complete, the transceiver will return to the operating mode and power level previously set. I suspect this operation may be causing the problem.
Is this a known problem, and is there a solution. Thanks...

Re: Frequency field freezes when ATU tunes
This has not been reported before but here are a couple of thoughts
I beleive the tuner has a loop through for CAT it could be there's an interruption in that during tune.
I just wasted a month trying to help a user in Mexico that had a CAT issue using FLdigi with Log4om, turned out to be that although all was ok when transmitting on phone when he used PSK he had RF getting into the computer - Six ferrite rings later problem cured

Terry, thank you for your insight. Perhaps the ferrite rings are needed. I am beginning to experiment without experience... I also am going to try using an 8pin mini din splitter cable (a Y-cable) to see whether I can feed the computer (OmniRig) directly from the radio rather than indirectly via the processing tuner. Thanks again.

Bob,
That won't work and will cause com port conflicts
Try a virtual serial port emulator like Eterlogic or comOcom, many of us use a VSP splitter or pair for sharing com ports with multiple devices

Yep, tuning FT817 on 40m often reset my home PC
