Hi, I am going on an RV trip and will operate from 3 or 4 locations. I want to upload the appropriate contacts to LOTW when I get home. It looks to me that after I created the different locations in TQSL all I would need to do is go to Settings, External Logs and change the Station ID to match the TQSL location and upload a batch of contacts appropriate for that location. Then go back into External Logs change the Station ID and upload the next set of QSOs. Will this work OK? I wasn't going to change my profile because I didn't think that location data would be uploaded to LOTW is that a good assumption?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Davd
I have a similar problem as I use several remote locations on occasion, often in the same operating session. When I was first setting up LOG4OM, Markus - HB9BRJ had a great suggestion that I followed and its well works for me. In Settings > Options > External Logs > LOTW Settings simply do not put anything in the "Station ID" field.
This way, when you download from LOTW, you'll grab all the new QSLs for all locations.
When uploading, just select the QSO from a given location, enter the correct Station Id, and upload. Of course the station ID field you type in must match the Station ID in TQSL. As I understand it, LOTW gets all your location data from what you set up in TQSL - not the logging program that feeds it.
If you want the location related fields to be correct in your log - state, grid square whatever, you can easily batch edit these in QSO Archive Manager. I found this faster for my needs than switching settings or profiles. This may depend on the number of QSOs from a given location.
I hope this helps.

David, TNX for the response. I think we agree on the process but the suggestion of leaving the station ID blank for downloading is a good idea, I would have assumed that the program would download all but I guess not. I set up my TQSL on my travel computer today so I can upload as I go. I thought that might be less confessing.
Again thanks.

Another option could be using multiple configurations (clone actual config), one for each location you work from.
You can then set personalized address/locators/ "/P" and LOTW data keeping the same database (if needed).
