JTAlertX

Post by kc2nyu »

Ok, back with a new subject. I am using JTAlertX v2.6.30 with WSJT-X v1.6.0 on a Win 7 64 bit PC and a K3 rig. I followed the Log4OM setup instructions on page 182-183 and checked the archives in the User support forum ( didn't find anything applicable).
After following the setup for JT Alert Integration in the User manual, I made a JT9 QSO using WSJT-X and JTAlert-X. At the end of the QSO I got the following msg from JTAlert-X:

Failure: Qso not logged
Error msg: LOG$OM file: unable to confirm QSO logged
Note: The QSO is still saved to the WSJT-X Log file

Can anyone tell me if the auto transfer to Log4OM from JtAlert-X is currently working?
Or if anyone has a similar setup and has it working, may be able to offer some hints to get mind working.

Hi Paul,

I use WSJT-X and JTAlert and it does log QSO's right into Log4OM. However, sometimes I do get that error message, but the QSO is logged in Log4OM anyway. So check to see if the QSO was logged in fact.

If it was not logged, double check all your settings. Make sure Log4OM is set as the logging program and the correct path to your SQLite file is set in JT-Alert.

Doug - thank you again for all your most helpful hints. I went back through the manual and redid all the settings and now it works. Just had a JT65 QSO using WSJT-X and JT Alert and the QSO was logged as advertized.
BTW- love the pic on your QSL card- what a gorgeous QTH, I envy you.

73 till my next dumb question-
BTW: you are so correct - Log4OM is just a great program- far superior to what I was using- HRD Logbook. As an aside, I have been paying them annually since they acquired it from Simon Brown. I am done with HRD. I now have switched to Win4K3, and now Log4OM. The only piece I still use is DM780, although I keep trying to use FLDigi. Not sure yet if the user interface is appealing as the DM780

Thanks Paul. Glad you are a happy user! That is what we like.

BTW, that photo is of the entrance to Gig Harbor, not my QTH, unfortunately. But we visit there often.

Hi Paul/Doug

I also had this problem (intermittent popup of error) and found I fixed it by :

In JTAlert Settings ->Miscellaneous->Performance
Set the Check QSO Log Record to (in my case) 5 seconds

No more unable to confirm popups :D

Hope it helps for you.

Cheers
David

New release is able to check if you're not connected to internet. This was often cause of "delay", when not connected, even if the program was set to save data as first thing to do.

I get the same error message yet the LOG4OM log updates. I tried different time settings under Performance in JTAlertX but no luck. If the Log is updated successfully then does that mean I have the correct link for the logbook or could something else be going on? 73 Lee
