Mouse cursor 'snap-to'.

Post by G4DWV »

I am a big fan of the 'snap-to' feature, that is the one that makes the mouse cursor jump to the active button in a dialogue box, but like with the confirmation box when closing Log4OM.

When loading Log4OM, there is such an active area on the very right, it is above the green disk. The thing is that that is not a clickable area AFAICT. Program interaction is slowed down as one cannot position the cursor until this first 'snap-to' action has completed.

In my case, I like to have the 'Recent QSO (F8)' visible all the time, just so I can be sure that a QSO has been logged. I move my mouse over the tab, ready to click on it so I can detach grid. The active area moves my cursor away from my personal desired spot to an area that does not do anything. Can the snap-to be used to make the cursor move to a more useful spot on loading or deactivated for current spot.

Sorry if this post does not make sense, but I am on a large dose of morphine after spine surgery a few days ago. I have just had to edit it as I could not understand it    .

Hi Lele,

I will try to explain better. There is a feature in Windows called 'snap-to'. When the option is set, and the programmer uses it, the mouse cursor jumps to the default button in a dialogue box. I love the option and use it. Look at http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/75 ... utton.html for more info.

When the main Log4OM window opens, the cursor jumps to an area on the screen that does not seem to be clickable and I wonder if you could turn it off for that spot (as it does nothing) as it gets in the way of what I want to do at that time*.

* I get ready to click on the "Recent QSO (F8)" tab. Is there a way that Log4OM could be customised to open showing a particular tab?

Would a screencast be helpful?
