HRDLog.net

Post by kc2nyu »

I know little about what HRDLog.net is or does other than what I read in the "About" section of thier web page. So I am wondering from other Forum members:
- Do many Log4OM users use HRDLog.net ?
- If so what do you see as the advantages of using??
- I currently upload to LOTW and eQSL, tried but didn't see much value in using QRZ.com logbook feature.
- Does using HRDLog.net enhance the functionality of Log4OM ?

Hi Paul,

HRDLog.net is an interesting feature. If you have it implemented in Settings/External Logs tab, and check the "Automatic HRDLog ON AIR" checkbox, HRDLog will track if you have Log4OM running, and the freq and mode which your rig is set to - assuming you have CAT connected. With that information, Log4OM and HRDLog.net allows or enables the use of the SuperCluster feature, which is essentially a sort of Internet based reverse beacon network of self spots, displaying other stations status provided by HRDLog.net.

Also, if you have ham friends who also use HRDLog.net, you can create a friends list on the HRDLog.net website to see if and where friends may be on the air.

And HRDLog.net will keep another cloud based copy of your log, for safekeeping.

Check out this forum post where Daniele explains the purpose of the Super Cluster and HRDLog.net - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1771&p=10468&hilit= ... ter#p10468

I hope that helps.

Doug - as always, very helpful. I have signed up and have it setup for auto on the air. I keep discovering neat new things about Log4OM.
The attached posting from Daniele was very informative.

Paul, besides on-air, I use it to maintain a real real time "Last 10 QSO" log on my website. See www.np3a.com

Once I log a QSO on Log4OM it is uploaded to HRDLOG atomatically.

One feature I would like to see on Log4om is the upload of imported logs to HRDlog. Right now if I import a contest log into log4om, I need to also upload to hrdlog separatelly.
