I'm considering migrating from DXLabs or at least trying out Log4OM for a while to see how well I can work with it. I followed the initial setup guide, video and the video for Log4OM / Fldigi. I've run into a problem.
I run SmartSDR (1.8), Log4OM (1.25.0.0) and fldigi (3.23.12). I completed the setup and restarted the applications (rebooted actually).
In SmartSDR I can control the frequency and, within a second, the frequency properly displays in Log4OM. fldigi shows 0.000 in the freq window. Actually, in one start, fldigi showed the current frequency.
In fldigi, when I change the frequency it is ignored by SmartSDR and Log4OM. Changing modes in fldigi does not update the radio.
In fldigi the use RigCAT and use Hamlib checkboxes are not checked. Hardware PTT is mostly blank. Use XML-RPC is checked and initialized. When I first start fldigi I can hear a momentary relay clack in the Flex. This only occurs if Log4OM is running which I think is a good sign.
Communicator shows cat connected and service status green on all 3 buttons. Log4OM shows CAT status green.
Should I expect to be able to control the rig's frequency and mode from fldigi? I think I should expect to see the correct frequency in fldigi. Can you think of anything I might have missed?

Re: Flex-6500 + Fldigi + Log4OM (migration from DXLabs)
The FLDigi XML/RPC protocol is only one way with regard to frequency and mode control
i.e. Log4OM will control FLDigi by double clicking a cluster spot but changing the frequency or node in FLDigi does not change the freq or mode in Log4OM or any other programs connected to it
The frequency that your radio/Log4om is set to should be reflected in FLdigi
