Problem with 2 DBs

Post by W8ES »

I have two databases, my primary call sign and a club call sign.
Each time I change database, as a minimum, I have to remember to change Station Info, External Services and Info providers because the call signs on those pages don't change with the database. I was trying to upload QSOs for the club station to LoTW and I found my primary call sign is still listed! Lord knows what problems that caused with LoTW.

I believe the call signs and passwords for those info pages (and any other I'm missing) should change with the databases.

Thanks, Doug.

So I understand that when I select a different DB under the File menu, I then have to go into Settings/User Configurations and select the proper config. and activate it.

I would think a "User Configuration" could be tagged to the DB and should open automatically when you select a different database.

At the very least, to make it a friendly operation, it would be nice when you change to a different DB, you would also be given the choice to change the user configuration in the same window so you don't forget.

Thanks for all the work you guys are doing!

When you set up the configuration select the required database for each config then when you open a config it should be connected to the correct database

Yes, Terry - that works fine.

But, I don't think I'm getting my point across. Let me try one more time, then I'll drop it.

Currently, when I change to a different DB (with a different call sign), I have to remember to also go into settings and change the User Configuration or bad stuff happens.

I would like to see the User Configuration, which was created for that particular DB, change automatically when you change databases --
OR
-- better yet, when you change to a different DB, after you select "save and apply," it would automatically open the User Configuration window so you don't forget to change to the proper config.

thanks again,

Not sure I understand what you mean by "Bad stuff happens" or what you change in the config when you move from one config to a different config.

I have three different configs as follows:

1. My normal G4POP call
2. My portable set up G4POP/P
3. A special event call sign

Numbers 1 and 2 have different call signs, EQSL, LOTW, HRDLOG, Clublog settings and locations but share a common database

Number 3 has a different call sign, EQSL, LOTW, HRDLOG, Clublog settings and locations but a separate database

So all I do is change config between 1, 2 and 3 and no changes are required

BTW I have a different shortcut for each on my desktop
