Connecting a HY-GAIN DCU-3 ROTATOR

Post by AH6TX »

I AM IN THE PROCESSING OF CONNECTING A ROTATOR AND MY BEAM TO A NEW COMPUTER CONTROLABLE DCU-3. The system includes USB connector. In reviewing your manual I have no clue as to now to hook this up to your software. Please advise. My computer is a flex 6500.

Thanks
Howard

Hi Howard, I highly recommend PSTRotator https://www.qsl.net/yo3dmu/index_Page346.htm. Your DCU-3 is supported.
Also Log4OM supports PSTRotator, pls consult the Log4OM Manual for details.

Thanks so much for your input. Just a few questions.
1) PstRotator or PstRotatorAz…. which do you recommend.
2) I noticed in your rotor selections you indicated spid rak 360. not sure what that is. I have a HAM IV ROTATOR.
3) When I select a contact from the Cluster will it rotate the antenna to the information provided within the cluster?

Again thanks for your help.

Hi Howard,

think the Spid rotator is the one that Roland is using but he has marked the one that you have to setting up
for your controller (DCU2(DCU3).
73´s .. Juergen ... ALT-512 SDR (10W) , 50 m random wire at SG-211 autotuner, 2 x Xiegu G90 (20W HF TRX) one as portable Radio. Also TS-790E (40 W) for VHF/UHF with X-50 vertical and Duoband 4-Element LPDA.

Hey Howard,
1) PstRotator or PstRotatorAz…. which do you recommend.
PstRotator is for Elevation AND Azimuth , PstRotatorAZ is for Azimuth only.

2) I noticed in your rotor selections you indicated spid rak 360. not sure what that is. I have a HAM IV ROTATOR.
In my Station setup I am using an SPID RAK Rotator http://spid.net.pl/en/591-2/, notice the checkmark on the left.

3) When I select a contact from the Cluster will it rotate the antenna to the information provided within the cluster?
Yes absolutely, that's how I am using it.
