Contest Mode - Worked B4

Post by ah6fx »

Terry - worked the CQ Worldwide 160 meter band contest this weekend. Had a very annoying problem which I could not overcome. Whenever I entered a call sign which I worked any time before ... the "Worked Before (F10)" screen popped up. Since I worked about 80% of my contest loggings in various contests and other QSOs - the "Worked before" screen was constantly popping up and I had to close it before continuing.

The contest start and end dates and times were properly entered in setup and I selected "Auto generate" since I had to enter something ... even tho "state" or DX region was the exchange. How do I set contest settings to only provide "worked before" for the contest period only? Don't recall having this problem with Log4OM1 ... perhaps I had that option turned off - don't remember.

Thanks for you help. Danny - AH6FX/W4, Virginia

I cannot simulate this issue, the WB4 window is not supposed to open because the contest related WB4 stations are displayed in the contest window already

You dont have to turn anything on it only displays the contacts made during the duration of the contest.

Again I am working blind because you failed to supply all of the information we always require

1. What version of Log4OM are you using?
2. What operating system are you using?
3. In this case what other software was running?

He might be referring to the issue where the contest windows does not stay on top.

As soon as you enter a callsign the main window comes to top. Maybe he has it on the F10 Worked Before tab.

I have this issue with winkeyer and contest window.

Thanks for your response Terry. Last week I downloaded and installed Log4OM2 version 2.3.0.0 and ran updates. This was installed on a new Dell XPS 8930 running Windows 10 Pro - version 10.0.18363 Build 18363 - 64 bit w/Intel Core i7-9700 CPU @ 3 GHz. No other programs were running except for Mozilla, and very few other programs were installed on the computer at that point except for Microsoft Office.

No other programs integrated with Log4OM2 - stand alone however it catches logging data off QRZ and the cluster was running per normal which should not pose an issue. Never use Winkey, etc.

Out of town for a while ... I will try to do a short video recreating the issue - but you can visualize the issue ... enter a call sign and a worked B4 screen appears for a QSO 6 months ago for example.

"OM" kd0zv -- respectfully, please do not rephrase my question. My original query describes the problem. Thanks

Terry - the F7 screen pops up ... then I must click on the crown to reenter the contest mode. I will send you [to your QRZ email listing] a link to a demo video. That link email may be from a friend Nigel - not my email. Danny, AH6FX/W4

Terry - just downloaded and installed the latest update today. That fixed my contest mode problem. Everything seems to be working greatly. Thanks for the great software and support.
