Latency issue

Post by NT6X »

I'm experiencing latency doing various tasks in Log4OM v2.

- When X out of tabs (especially the QSLing Tab) there's a 5-7 sec delay before I can click the X.
- When logging QSO's using WSJT-X and JTAlert there's the same delay before the QSO is logged to Log4OM. When I'm running rate, the QSO's don't log quick enough and sometimes are logged out of order.
- Occasionally there's a 4-6 sec delay before my rig transmits on FT8.

I thought maybe it was an issue talking to either WSJT-X or JTAlert, but I experience the same latency when only Log4OM is running.

Is this a polling problem? Is there a way to adjust it to be quicker within Log4OM?

Well it's not your set up so I would suspect anti virus, firewalls etc

Try turning all of the above off and see if that changes things

Thanks, Terry. I went ahead an disabled Bitdefender and it's Firewall. The latency is still there. I tried to disable Real-time protection in Windows Security but the toggle switch was grayed out and wouldn't let me turn off Windows Security.

I thought maybe it was related to the microKeyer II i'm using, but the issue is with Log4OM only. When using another popular logging program everything is smooth and very quick.

Thanks for your suggestions though.

I cant speak for the other issues but this is a somewhat common occurrence for me. Not all the time but it happens quite a bit.
